Join the Tonbridge Line Commuters Committee – to Make a Difference!
Are you fed up with the train service we’re? Do you feel unheard? Would you like to help us try and change that?
Tonbridge Line Commuters (TLC) is looking for volunteers to join our committee and help us campaign for better train services, fairer fares, and improved passenger experiences.
Tonbridge Line Commuters are a volunteer led organisation, seeking to improve rail travel for our area. We have been going since 1959
Why Join the TLC Committee?
As a committee member, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Make a real impact on rail policy and services in the Tonbridge area.
- Work constructively with key stakeholders, including train operators, local councils, and MPs.
- Represent the interests of thousands of commuters who rely on our railway every day.
- Gain valuable experience in transport advocacy, public engagement, and stakeholder collaboration.
What We’re Looking For:
You don’t need to be a railway expert! We’re looking for people who:
- Are passionate about improving rail services.
- Can dedicate a couple of hours a week on an ad-hoc basis. (We typically meet online every 1-2 months for 2 hours with ad-hoc correspondence in between)
- Enjoy working as part of a team and engaging with different stakeholders.
- Want to make a meaningful contribution to their community.
- Are especially interested in representing passengers from Paddock Wood and Tonbridge.
What You’ll Get in Return:
- Full training and support – we’ll help you get up to speed with everything you need to know.
- A chance to develop skills in negotiation, policy advocacy, and transport planning.
- The satisfaction of knowing you’re making a difference for local commuters.
