Tonbridge

Train

Tonbridge train station is one of the busiest stations in the South east and is well connected on the railway network and offers a variety of destinations. Popular journeys include:

Tonbridge trains to London:

  • Charing Cross, Waterloo East, and London Bridge (during peak hours some direct services to Cannon Street).
  • Orpington (may require a change at Sevenoaks)
  • Blackfriars (change at London Bridge onto Thameslink)

Tonbridge trains to East Kent:

  • East Kent: Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and Ramsgate.

Tonbridge trains to North Kent:

  • North Kent: Maidstone and Strood (you may need to change at Paddock Wood)

Tonbridge trains to nearby towns:

  • Sevenoaks (to the north)
  • Tunbridge Wells (to the south)

Tonbridge trains to the coast:

  • Hastings
  • Folkstone and Dover

Tonbridge trains to the west:

  • Redhill (via Edenbridge) – this line is popular with schoolchildren

Unfortunately, since December 2008 it is no longer possible to travel directly to Gatwick Airport. One of TLC’s goals is to get this direct link to Gatwick Airport re-established. We encourage you to write to your MP to get this line re-instated. In past times it was also possible to travel direct to places such as Reading and Brighton.

Timetables for all the above routes except for Edenbridge and Redhill are available from Southeastern. The timetable for the Redhill line is available from Southern.
