Train

Edenbridge train station is one of two stations serving the town of Edenbridge giving a range of connections for the Edenbridge traveller. Edenbridge station is served by Southern trains between Redhill and Tonbridge.

Services from Redhill call at Nutfield, Godstone, Edenbridge, Penshurst, Leigh and Tonbridge. The typical off-peak service in trains per hour is:

  • 1 tph to Redhill
  • 1 tph to Tonbridge

There are additional services in the morning and afternoon peak periods. This predominately serves school children who comprise the largest commuter group using the line.

Unfortunately, since December 2008 it is no longer possible to travel directly to Gatwick Airport. One of TLC’s goals is to get this direct link to Gatwick Airport re-established. We encourage you to write to your MP to get this line re-instated. In past times it was also possible to travel direct to places such as Reading and Brighton.

Whilst services on this line are managed by Southern, the majority of drivers and conductors are actually Southeastern staff and therefore this line can be impacted by staffing availability issues impacting either operating company.

Facilities

Edenbridge station is unstaffed and facilities are limited. Tickets can be purchased from the self-service ticket machine at the station and there are passenger help points located on each platform. There is also a basic shelter located on each platform. The station has a small free car park.

The Tonbridge bound platform is accessible without steps but the Redhill bound platform is only reachable through the use of steps.

TLC’s goals and priorities for Edenbridge Station are:

  • Step free access to the Redhill bound platform
  • Restoration of direct trains to Gatwick Airport
  • Restoration of direct trains to London
